no way! How could you be expected to pay for all those and all the other expenses you will have! on the day! Get the bridesmaids to pay there share!!!

I'm bridesmaid for my friends wedding in 6 months and she's paying for our dresses, make-up, hair etc. And I'm getting married in July 2010 and I'm paying for my bridesmaids dresses, make- up, hair ect. It is only right.

I'm gonna be paying for dresses, hair, makeup and probably shoes. Maybe if you don't care about their tan, you could tell them it's up to themselves if they want a tan or not, that way they'd be paying. I was wondering if I should pay their accommodation too, but I think all of the above is enough!!

Being honest I think you should pay. You have invited them to be your bridesmaid. Wasn't their decision. You are the one getting married and you shouldn't expect to put your expenses onto them. I think you should definitely pay to them. If there offer for make up or something like that let them pay but otherwise  you should look after things.

I've been a bridesmaid twice and the bride has paid for the dresses etc.  I will be getting married in 2010 and I will be paying for the bridesmaid dresses and hair for sure.  As for make-up and tan, that's up to themselves.

I agree with Cork Raven the dresses and hair should be paid for and a little gift on the day but the rest is up to them to look after!

I know, we are sick of the word recession, but really everyone has to cut back.  I love my bridesmaids and they know I can only afford to buy the dresses.  Everything else is up to them.

They are cool with it.
