Hi there, we are organising our wedding from New Zealand to be in Dublin Dec 2010 the church I like costs500 euro and I was wondering what the norm is??Especially because it's free in NZ!

Hey there niamhandjamyn,
My friends from England got married in Meath last year and there was no charge for the use of the church. They did have to arrange their own priest and make a donation to the parish church. It certainly was nowhere near €500!

Unfortunately, there is a charge for the use of some churches when you're not from the parish. Not sure if €500 is the standard charge though. Sounds a bit expensive..
