Looking for advice on wedding cakes. Don't want to go down the usual root of 3 different tiers and am looking for something really different. Thinking of cupcakes. Has anyone tried this before?

I know a few people who have

I know a few people who have used the cupcakes instead of the traditional cake.  It's big in the U.S and starting to become very popular here too.  I'm getting married in April next year and I'm going to have the cupcakes.  They look really nice and less waste compared to 3 tier cake.

Dessert Cake

Hi Galwaywedding

We're not having the traditional style wedding cake but getting a chocolate cake or the cup cakes instead.

Then after photos of cutting the cake, it will be used as the dessert after the meal.

Any wedding I've ever attended there's always loads of wedding cake left over.  It's such a waste for something that so expensive to buy.

Cake & Dessert all-in-one

My wedding is a while off yet but my fiancé and I are not having the traditional 3 tier wedding cake.

I don't like fruit/wedding cake and neither does my fiancé.

Instead we're going to cut the 'wedding dessert' and it cuts the cost of having the traditonal wedding cake and seperate dessert.
