hi i'm doing a xmas wed with turkey and ham and two starters plus dessert it is 35 per head beef and salmon choice will be 40 per head i want a mulled wine reception was 3.50 per head but when i told him of better deals in other places he offered 3 per head i believe the cake should be eaten on the day so if we go with that as a dessert it will take a 5er off each person the wine top up plus toast is aronud 500 for about 100 people go on to venues sites and get prices and compare when you go to them they will come down and work with you love and light from tramore happy days longford

hi, around 55 to 60euro is the norm, however they are coming down in price. im getting married next september and i found out from a couple that they got the meal down to €38 per head and this includes a choice. You defo have to haggle with them. I

Hi, we've booked our wedding for August 2010 and at the time of booking we were quoted €45 per person. Last february we met with the manager and explained that we had received a cheaper quote and we were thinking of cancelling the wedding in that hotel. Much to our surprize the manager dropped the price to €35 per person. He also dropped the price of the afters and the wine. Needless to say we were thrilled!! It is well worth going back to hotels and haggling, and quote the dreaded word "RECESSION". Besta luck!!!

€60 per head is way too much.  I agree with Brown Eyes, you have to haggle to get a better deal.  In this climate most hotels will be glad of the business.

Hi, I am a bit worried now after reading other comments, we got €77 per herad all inclusive package, 4 course meal, wine for meal, canapes at reception, cocktails at reception, evening food and toast drink, is this a good deal? I thought so!

No need to panic about that price for a package deal.  €77 per head is a great price for what you'll be getting.

I think the prices discussed in previous posts are just for the meal (not including wine, cocktails etc).
